Hi! My name is Matilda. I identify as a cis queer woman, and I use she/her pronouns. I am thrilled and honoured to be one of your coordinators this year. This is my second year with the Lumen Room and my fourth (and final) year at Quest. My question is “How do we teach inclusive sex education?” with a focus on queer sex ed, pedagogy, and feminism. My Keystone is about using my cis privilege to help make the Howe Sound Women’s Centre more trans-friendly. Outside of Quest, I love to run, knit, read, and cook! I’m mostly outgoing and always down to hang out or chat.

Hi! My name is Tyne, I identify as a cis queer woman and use she/ her pronouns. This is my last year at Quest, the third year working at the Lumen Room - but my first year coordinating!

My keystone is a children/young adult/adult picture book. The project surrounds bodies and pleasure - the importance of addressing pain and advocating for self in sexual and medical environments. I am interested in how PTSD manifests in the body. I am interested in the construct of gender, and I am passionate about providing people with the information they need to be safe, healthy and happy in their bodies.

Please ask me any questions you have, if I don’t have the answers I’ll be excited to find them with you :)

Oi! My name is Luisa Figueiredo. I’m a third-year student, and this upcoming year I will be a part of the coordinator team of the Luru Crew. Originally from a city in the middle of the Brazilian amazon state, I identify myself as a latinx cisgender queer woman.

At the moment, my question is ‘’How does your culture affects your sex life?’’ and my academic interests are mainly focused on Political Sciences and Sexual Psychology. I’m passionate about researching/discussing topics on the intersection between sexuality, sex, internalization, race and ethnicity.

As an international student, I’m very familiar with situations involving cultural shock, and this is an angle I’ve tend to bring it up in most of Lumen Room activities. If you are looking for any type of support, have any questions, or just want to hang out, I’m more than happy to help.
